Jan 23, 2007 Frog PrincessYep, that's me today.
So, here's the run down: Hedera swap sock CO too tight. Must frog ENTIRE sock and restart. Going up a needle size, meaning the needles that my Endpaper Mitts are on. Therefore, ripping Endpaper Mitts and inserting lifeline. Also going to Magic Loop it (since the needle size is perfect), which means METAL needles. We shall see how this works. *sigh* I might go crazy people. I have 8 days to make a pair of socks. Are we taking any bets? Just to make it fun, you have until the 31st to post a comment about how long you think it will take for me to finish them (toes grafted, ends woven). Whoever is the closest without going over will win a skein of Crystal Palace Bunny Hop.
Edited to add: I haven't actually bought the yarn, so if you are vegan or allergic, just let me know and I'll arrange a different prize for you. You are allowed to guess that it might take me more than 8 days, I won't be insulted. :)Labels: accidents, contest, procrastinating, socks 13:34

I'll bet it takes you 5.5 days. (The extra half day is for the weaving in and finishing bits.)

I believe it will take you 4 days and an evening in front of the tv weaving and grafting :)

I also just want to say - I'm sorry you're frogging the whole thing! That really sucks - and don't feel pressured to finish them on account of me, I'm still on the foot of sock 1 :)

I am guessing 8.5 days. close, but not quite there. (Sorry)

Well, I feel like I'm betting against you but I believe it will take you 11 days to finish them. You do have a life and three young children after all.

oh! i feel so sorry for you. the sock was looking gorgeous. i frogged the entire leg of my opal tiger sock last week so can totally empathize with you. i got my one sock finished and am on to the second one. i believe that you will finish your pair in 7.5 days! i am totally optimistic.

I always CO for socks holding two needles together that way it stays really lose, but not noticeably so. It seriously works every time.
You might have to commit to those socks to do them in 8 days though. I did mine in two weeks I think? I basically camped out on the couch for three days straight at one point. Warning, the heel is REALLY deep, you could probably knock a few rows off to save some time.

Just checking in wondering how your socks are coming along. I'm not good at deadline knitting - I'm too rebellious. As soon as I think I HAVE to finish something, I don't want to knit it any more.
Hope you're making great progress.

probably not joining the green sock KAL - I'd like to just do them on my own :) I'm all for knitting with a group, and I like KAL's, but after holiday knitting and all, I'll be taking my sweet time with these puppies :) I can't wait, the pattern is deliciously difficult looking!
Oh, and don't think I don't like a challenge - your socks are a challenge, but I have mastered the pattern and have no worries now :)
