Alright, so much has happened since my last post. I apologize for not updating more regularly, broken computer. Anyway, I find it ironic that I actually made a post for my blog on paper...the night before I went in to the hospital.
completed! They're wayyyy too big, but totally adorable. I tweaked the pattern some to make them look as close to actual Chucks as possible. Here's a link to my version, and the one I modified it from. Both are actually based on the pattern for Suede booties on diy.net. Everyone at my LYS loved them! Gotta mail Debbie the pattern too, I keep promising it to her. lol
Here's the yarn I dyed, it was part of my PIF gift to someone, who probably knows who she is by now. lol It came out gorgeous, except I did have some spots that didn't dye when I did the yellow. Mostly I was experimenting with mixing colors and using different concentrations of the dye. My lamp came in handy again when I rewound the hank on my PVC niddy noddy. I used the smaller size, which was a BIG mistake. Trying to twist the hank up was too difficult. Remind me not to do that anymore.
The Thuja socks are now being put back into the bucket. They are on hold until I can figure out what to do. I'm like 4 inches (or something) from the toe decreases and I do NOT have enought yarn. This depressed me, especially when Linda agreed with me. So, they sit at the bottom of my sock bag. looking sad. To cheer myself up, I started my first Hedera sock last Thursday night, and finished it this morning! It looks BEAUTIFUL!!! They're are no real progress shots because I didn't have the computer. Of course, that's probably how it got finished so fast. The fun part is I have shoes that remind me of the ones in the pictures on Knitty. So I got a shot with those on.
